  • How to choose the right size of a dining table?
As a guide, count on about 60 cm of width per person. For 4 people, a length of 120–130 cm (round diameter ~100 cm) is sufficient, for 6 people 140–160 cm (∅120 cm), for 8 people 180–200 cm. The standard table height is 75 cm; for small apartments, consider an extendable dining table, which will offer a reserve for guests and save space.

  • Round vs. rectangular table – which is better for a smaller kitchen?
A round table saves on passage zones and facilitates communication; it has no sharp corners. A rectangular one makes better use of a wall or corner and offers greater variability of dimensions. If you are dealing with space, choose a smaller diameter/width and an extendable top. Take a look at our dining tables and adapt the shape to your layout.

  • How to match dining chairs with a table?
Pay attention to the height of the chair seat vs. the height of the table top – the ideal distance is 25–30 mm between the thigh and the bottom of the table top, the total height difference is about 25–30 cm (table 75 cm → seat 45–48 cm). For comfort, allow 60 cm of width per chair. In terms of materials, combine wood/oak with upholstery in neutrals (gray, beige) or durable easy-clean fabrics for families.

  • How high should the bar stools be for the island and the bar?
For a kitchen counter/island that is 90–92 cm high, choose bar stools with a seat height of ~65 cm. For higher bars that are 100–105 cm, a seat height of ~75 cm is ideal. Keep a knee space of 25–30 cm and a width of approximately 55–60 cm per person. Height-adjustable bar stools with backrests are practical.
